Just Health Restoration, LLC was founded in April 2024 by two African American women committed to transforming healthcare through equity, education, and lived experience.
Co-founder Janiene H. Campbell, a part-time public school educator, brought with her a background in healthcare administration, patient care, and advocacy. She also founded a nonprofit food pantry and operated a for-profit company manufacturing and distributing a CBD-based pain relief topical.
The other co-founder — Crystal L. Hunter — is a licensed nurse with over 25 years in healthcare, including nearly a decade in transformational leadership roles focused on community health, public health education, organizational growth, and patient and family advocacy.
As African American women and chronic pain sufferers, both founders personally and professionally witnessed the deep injustices within the healthcare system. Through Just Health Restoration, LLC, they sought to dismantle biased practices, oppressive policies, and inequitable care — and to rebuild a system centered on justice, access, and dignity for all.
While Janiene Campbell has since transitioned from the company, her early contributions remain an important part of the organization’s foundation and legacy.
